This Is What You Always Do / Castaway

This Is What You Always Do (2016)

1.River
2.Window
3.The Crow
4.I'm Here, The Lastman Is Standing
5.Climbing
6.Float Away

Hi there, OEN (Oriented Evolutional Noodle) is here, today I'm gonna introduce a pop-punk band, Castaway, from Tokyo, Japan.
The first encounter to this band for me was of course that Counterparts Japan  Tour. At the moment, I listened all bands I didn't know. Then I met this band, with a song called "Climbing". At first I'm not quite sure about pop punk. But the song keenly drew the attention of me. Also, it doesn't matter for this article tho, I saw them on the stage before Counterparts. It was like.. so sick cuz it felt something hot from bottom of my heart even they are not hardcore band. Of course "Climbing" is my favorite. It feels like to push my back and get me able to keep fighting when I'm stuck in a hole I fell into. This feeling also appears on the lyric, like "You might not be perfect But never stop climbing".
Others are also good as well. I guess this band can compete against others even in other fields like hardcore.
If you like Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! or Neck deep or Between You and Me or some other else, you'll like this.
Thank you for reading! Wish this could be good time for you...  See you again:)

Hanging on / ARRAS

Hanging on (2016)
1.Bloom
2.Clouded
3.White Knuckles

Hi there, O.E.N (Oriented Evolutional Noodle) is here. Recently it's fucking cold, I fucking hate winter... cuz you have to wear thick outer or many layers...otherwise you'll die. that sucks. Even if you wear your favorite tees or hoodies, it's behind the fucking boring outer. Anyway, today I'm gonna review an digital EP "Hanging on" by ARRAS.

ARRAS is Melodic Hardcore band from Colorado state, USA. When I listened their stuffs, I was like.. "THIS IS LIKE KILLING ME!". They are literally melodic hardcore, but also moshy hardcore. These songs are gonna match your preference especially for person who wants melodic component and strongly edgy hard ones.

"Bloom" is what I've needed! speed is good. But the tempo constantly lasts. If you want changing tempos such as alternative hardcore, that doesn't match for you. But It feels like the somehow good amount of melodious and hardcore exist in this song. "Clouded" is completely hardcore side. No melodic and clean part, but it prove that how much they can express both field. I mean they are really good at them. I love this. "White Knuckles" is amazingly awesome... when I listened the introduction part, it made me think like that "Why I've not known this band so far? Fuck me." This song has such power. In derail, the song is including the good points of "Bloom" and "Clouded". You can hear the naughty fading part also, at the end, you can also hear the piano part.

I'm still wondering why the playing count in YouTube is still low. Not only from personal opinion, but also from the general, they must be famous... maybe just because of luck? maybe because of hardcore scene? I'm not sure though, I'm really cheering them. This EP is available on Apple store, Bandcamp so on. It feels like that the similar bands are Hundredth, Mayfield, High Hopes, and so on.

Thank you for reading! Wish this could be good time for you...  See you again:)

BloodAxe Tour / Counterparts Japan Tour : Concert Report

Hi there, O.E.N. (Oriented Evolutional Noodle) is here, long time no seen.
I honestly apologize that I haven't updated this blog long time, someone might get disappointed. .. Also I didn't say happy new year and merry Christmas! (too late)
From now, I restart to write this blog just for my hobby including music, travel so on.
The reasons I do blogging is to spread bands I want you to know, and possibly, self-satisfaction. That's fucking all.

In addition, I obviously changed language from Japanese to English to write. Why I did so is just for convenience for writing. Well, actually I'm doing researcher in an university now, I write a lot of papers for my accomplishment. Then it frequently feels like that the writing in English is much more comfortable because of huge degree of freedom to write actually. Meanwhile, I was often feeling that my Japanese expression is not enough to write music blog, and that makes me feel boring.

Anyway, let me start to talk about the Counterparts Japan Tour (BloodAxe Tour)

I went to the first one of them. I didn't go any other else cuz of time and money limitation. I DEFINITELY WANTED TO GO but I couldn't. Then I thought this is probably first and last chance to see counterparts... this strongly pushed my back to go to Tokyo from Fukuoka just to see them!

From here, I'm gonna show you the bands in the concert consequently.

1. Iris
Iris is melodic hardcore from Tokyo, Japan. It's first time to see, also I didn't listen them before. I really like their lyrical expression by Japanese spoken part. Basically it doesn't sound like so called "Japanese melodic hardcore", but those parts is really like Japanese one. I literally enjoyed so much even it's beginning of the whole concert. Floor was still quiet.

2. Stranded
Stranded is melodic hardcore band from Saitama, Japan. Surprisingly they just have formed in June 2016! But their potential is fucking awesome. At the concert, their first self-made EP was being sold, I literally regret that I didn't buy because of some reasons. The sound, melody is approximately same as counterparts. The last song they did is exactly so, even I don't know the title. I guess Stranded is one of the most well-expected melodic hardcore band.

3. Super six
I could only see the last part of them, sorry..

4. Concealments
Consealments is hardcore/melodic hardcore band from Tokyo, Japan. I listened their songs before seeing them. For me, the songs on mp3 files are not so interesting, but it completely changed after seeing them actually. The vocalist has so much strong and heavy shout which is able to prevail in overseas, but melody very lyric. I'm really happy to see you and can't wait their brand new full album.

5. Foad
Foad is post hardocore band from Kanagawa, Japan. Actually/personally I don't like their stuff.. before seeing them, I listened their stuff, but it doesn't match my preference PERSONALLY. Maybe it's kind of good one, but I can't accept even after seeing them in concert.. the one thing makes me dislike them is just that clean part. It sounds not cool cuz before the clean part is literally moshed. I won't be going to listen any longer in a positive way.

6. Castaway
Castaway is pop-punk band from Tokyo, Japan. I really really like this band and I listened them before seeing. One this makes me feel they are cool is, that they are only pop-punk band in those member. Even they play before counterparts, that sounds like not just pop-punk, but also very melodious and cool. I don't really know about Japanese pop-punk scene. However it feels like that they are the coolest pop-punk band I've ever seen.. SO AWESOME. You should listen them once, I never make you disappointed.

7. Counterparts
Counterparts is melodic hardcore band from Ontario, Canada. Now I'm writing about them. It's one week pasts, but I still certainly remember how it was.. but... I can't find any possible/suitable expression of their gig cuz it's fucking too awesome. One thing I can say right now is I was crying and singing with raised fist. That's what I've wanted since 2014 BloodAxe... I mean seeing counterparts was one of my dream. Now it has been fucking achieved...
For songs they did are also very good. It feels like that the harder mosh songs were many more than melodic ones, like "Compass", "Slave", "Burn", and so on. They mainly came from 3rd album, "The difference between hell and home". next is 4th, and 2nd. I think no songs are from 1st and EP right? I drastically expected they to do "John Lock" but they didn't.

Totally this concert is fucking awesome. My dream came true, I found other cool bands, additionally I met one of the person who I'm following in twitter, is cool guy.
I really appreciate anything involved in this Tokyo trip. Most thank for coming of Counterparts.

Thank you for reading! Wish this could be good time for you...  See you again:)
